Lovely to see our dear friend Liesel Carter here.We were honoured to hear Liesel Carter BEM share her remarkable story earlier this month at the AJR conference held at Holocaust Centre North. Born in Germany in 1935, Liesel aged 4, travelled alone through Europe to Britain, to escape Nazi persecution, where she eventually settled in Leeds. Despite losing her father and many family members in the Holocaust, Liesel built a happy life and continues to share her story, promoting tolerance, equality and Holocaust remembrance. We are grateful to Liesel for sharing her experiences with a room full of Holocaust educators, helping ensure that the stories of survivors continue to inform and inspire future generations. 📷Liesel with her daughter in conversation with Holocaust Centre North’s Head of Learning Hannah Randall. PLEASE SHARE.'After two truly lovely years of having the privilege of working alongside the wonderful charity 6 million+ it is sadly time for me to move on and we are looking for new trustees to come and share their skills and passions and help support our very special integrated creative arts approach, helping embed refugees and sanctuary seekers within their communities across Kirklees and beyond. The work is powerful and meaningful and has never been more urgent. We are looking for trustees who are interested in helping us grow our acclaimed work and support us as we transition to the next exciting phase of our development as a charity.If you have experience in fundraising or arts project management we particularly welcome you but anything you feel you can offer will be welcome and warmly received.
