Event 4: Polish, Italian and Serbian participants visit the UK, 18-20 Oct 2017
The participants from all 4 countries met together in the UK in October 2017 to learn about the local context and to share the responses they had prepared: music, poetry, artwork, performance, film, audio and these were performed and shared with an audience of community groups from many backgrounds.
The local UK groups and EU participants were also engaged in an activity about transforming derogatory language we use for migrants and refugees into more positive language i.e. the letters of the word OUTSIDER can be rearranged to say EDITOR, meaning a refugee may have skills to contribute to his new home country.
Dialogue continued on the subject of making memorialisation relevant to contemporary issues.
